| Bio: | PRIMARY NAME: Lady Elfleda ALTERNATIVE NAMES: Beth/Pythia ORIGINAL TRUE NAME: Ælfflæd ('Ael-flade', meaning 'elf beauty') or possibly Æðelflæd ('Ae-thel-flade', which would have meant 'noble beauty'). HISTORICAL TITLES: 'Elfleda the Corruptress'. 'Leviathan's Bride'. APPEARANCE: Very much like Lily appeared in the black wedding dress on 'Legend'. HISTORY: Elfleda was at one time a far more innocent personality. The daughter of nobility, perhaps even royalty, Æðelflæd ended one life in the captivity of sinister priestly activity. The texts are not exactly clear on when it was supposed to have taken place, but ancient texts point to probable mediaeval times. Just about the only thing which seems to be definite, is that she was taken captive for a sincerely darkened ritual; enemies of either her parents directly, or the interests they represented. 'And lo, Ælfflæd's light became snatched and taken from all mortal grasp. The Beastly Leviathan, it did prosper and called to midst it was. Ælfflæd's virgin heart seduced.' The how of it, is not clear either, but either through force or by illusionary lies, Æðelflæd was deceived and polluted to a new purpose: Emissary of the Black Light. These days choosing to go by the name of Lady Elfleda, though at other times, Beth or Pythia. Elfleda serves another vision now. One who takes care of the Leviathan's plans and sees to it, by hook or by crook, that they could be put into practice. She is the keeper of hidden secrets. The protected wanderer through nightmares. ABILITIES: Working ancient and dark magic. Summoning life from death and a limited telekinesis. A degree of control over forces of flame and shadow. Most importantly, the ability to weave corruption; to bring all the dark and hidden parts of one's personality directly to the surface. To appeal to both sides of a coin and simultaneously play them against one another. The weak-minded are particularly vulnerable. Invisible and demonic servants escort at all times. They are illuminated rarely. WEAKNESSES: Unknown if she is destructible. Some things lead to banishing. The knowledge of her name can both evoke her presence and, if utilised right, alternatively keep her at bay. Isolation in a place of light tends to severely weaken her, breaking the shadowed link. In a place of light, if her protectors can be shielded from assisting, she can be successfully interrogated, until the ancient force of Leviathan, evil personified, realises or decides to rescue. Extremely careful precautions have to be made against her talent of seduction and mind gaming and to hide any trace of shadow or elemental fire that she could manipulate some way. The one area she is extremely vulnerable to, would be to in some way open her up to the call of her human family and loved ones from long ago, who prayed and tried all mystical means at their disposal to spiritually rescue her from a cocoon, compounded by the metaphysical locking of an external sacrifice beyond her control, that they could never quite seem to reach. | |||||||||
